I’ll be the first person to admit that I love writing for orchestra. It’s the main medium that I’m requested to use when I score film today, and, in some ways, it’s a bit of a comfort zone for me. It’s less common that I’ll be the guy who’s called for an all-synth score, but when I do, it’s a treat for me! This Spring, I had the privilege of collaborating with Matt Green for a new film called DAY 37 that takes a hard look at the flawed VA system.
Matt always brings me a fun challenge when we work together, no project being like the last. Two years ago, we produced THE LUNCH RUSH: a short musical that we wrote, film, recorded, and shot in what I believe was 8 weeks. Last year, we worked on A HARD GAMBLE and Matt asked me for a score that felt like it was born in the ’40’s. This year, in case the all-synth score wasn’t challenge enough, it had to be continuous... for all 11 minutes of the film. #ChallengeAccepted
Enjoy, and be sure to check out the short from Filmbandit Productions!
